EAGLES NEST CABIN

We’ve been told our Eagles Nest cabin was the first structure erected on the original 200+ acre Flying-R Ranch in the 1920s. Solidly constructed of local timber and white chinking, tucked snug into the hillside for protection, it’s our most popular cabin. You wouldn’t know it’s nearly 100 years old. Modernized and comfortable, it has all the amenities for an enjoyable stay. Expectantly rustic with a wood stove for a cozy ambiance, simple mountain decor, comfy beds, and a homey feel. You never have to leave the cabin if you don’t want to.

Each bedroom has a queen-sized bed. The love seat in the living room converts to a sleeper suitable for 1 teen/adult or 2 small children.  Along with the 2 bedrooms, it houses one full bath, a kitchen with gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, real wood stove, washer/dryer, TV, and internet.

During your visit, slip on weather-suitable hiking shoes for a walk around our prayer trail. (Make sure to stop at the wooden swing situated at the top of the property for stunning views of the Sangre de Cristos to the southwest).  Additionally, we have snowshoes and sleds available for the winter months. There’s plenty of room to explore if you have your own cross-country skis.

The Eagles Nest is burrowed in the side of a hill and under the protection of large pine trees. Enjoy the front porch as it looks out at our spring-fed pond, water wheel, and high-country garden with a view of The Barn in the distance.

This cabin rental is a 2 bedroom with a shared full bath, and sleeps four, or five with the sleeper sofa. Parking spaces are next to the cabin – so no worries about hiking in with suitcases! Secluded, but easily accessible. Divide is a 10-minute drive and Colorado Springs is less than an hour.

Available to book alone or along with our other accommodations for larger groups. Contact us here for group/multi-unit reservations.
